The Gaza Diet

Since the start of its blockade on Gaza, Israel has been controlling Gazans’ calorie intake, making food essentials such as meat, dairy, fruits and vegetables a luxury. 2017 OCHA estimates found that 40%* of Gazan households suffered from food insecurity, and 80%** of people were reliant on foreign aid for survival.

These visuals highlight how Israel's Red Lines Policy, implemented from 2007-2010, collectively punished Gazans by limiting their access to food quantities needed for survival.
